Mangaka_Simon is a blog primarily for the assistants of MUSEbasement, a start up comics and doujinshi circle.
Practices, tips and tricks, tutorials and other sequential art information will be posted here for the time being, to bring everyone up to speed on the supplies and methodologies gleaned from a plethora of instructional books and personal/group experience. Feel free to add your comments and ask questions!
A variety of resources will be imployed in striving to improve our craft, including referencing classic illustrators such as Albert Dorne and Norman Rockwell and masters of the North American comics craft as well as a selection of the more useful of tips from Japanese sources. By cutting down on how much assistants have to read and sort through (nobody wants a reading list x.x), we can just focus on practicing and drawing.
Have fun, and remember, You Learn to Draw by Drawing!
Please remember that all images posted are copyright thier owners and are shown without permission where permissions are not explicit. I'll do my best to mark the copyright holders.
